Two beaches on the West Island are closed at least until Friday, Quebec’s environment ministry has confirmed.

The beaches at Cap St-Jacques and Bois de L'ile Bizard are closed due to poor water quality.

Tests taken June 22 showed they are not safe for swimming because of elevated levels of fecal coliform.

The two parks remain open for all other activities.
