Some residents in Quebec’s Laurentians felt the ground shake on Wednesday after a minor earthquake struck.

Earthquakes Canada reported a 3.7 magnitude quake about 17 kilometres west of L’Annonciation just before noon.

“There were no reports of damage and none would be expected,” Earthquakes Canada wrote on its site.

Quebec regularly reports earthquakes, but rarely are they above 5.0 magnitude.

The last time an earthquake that strong hit Quebec was in 2013 near Cambell’s Bay, Que.

Those who said they “felt” the earthquake said it was “weak” or “light,” according to the government report.
