A recall has been issued for peanuts that may be contaminated with salmonella. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) published the recall Thursday for the “Roasted Lemon N’ Chilli Peanuts” from Everest Traders Inc. sold in 65g packages and distributed in Quebec and Ontario. The items have a best before date of June 30, 2027. The agency recommends people to avoid consuming, selling or distributing the recalled products and to either throw them out or return them. According to the notice, food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. There have been no reported illnesses and the recall was issued because of test results.
