A party in the McGill Ghetto ended with some commotion early Friday after party goers were pepper sprayed.
Police say they were called to a building on Durocher St. near Pine Ave. around 1:30 a.m. An 18-year-old man, upset after he was thrown out of the party, allegedly pepper sprayed other attendees.
Urgences Sante says six or seven people were treated at the scene while two others were brought to hospital. Those who were treated at the scene had to be stripped and hosed down in order to wash away the pepper spray.
About 20 firefighters were also called to the scene because authorities originally didn’t know what substance was released, so the firefighters had to ventilate the building
The 18-year-old was also brought to hospital and released with minor injuries.
He was met by investigators and released on a promise to appear in court at a later date. Police say he will be charged with armed assault.
