A 76-year-old woman is dead following a crash at the intersection of Langelier Boulevard and Belanger Street in the Montreal borough of Saint-Leonard on Monday afternoon.
The accident occurred at around 1:45 p.m. According to Montreal police (SPVM), the woman’s death was not directly caused by the collision.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 53-year-old man, was uninjured.
“Following the impact, the driver of the first vehicle got out to meet the other driver and reportedly collapsed to the ground. She was taken to hospital in critical condition. She was pronounced dead at hospital,' said SPVM spokesperson Mariane Allaire Morin.
SPVM investigators and collision experts were on the scene to try to understand the circumstances surrounding the crash.
