The beach at Jean-Drapeau Park is closed due to elevated levels of bacteria in the water.
The province’s environment ministry issued a statement Tuesday evening saying it asked the city of Montreal to close the Jean-Dore Beach after Monday’s samples determined that waters in the swimming area don’t comply with bacterial quality standards.
People can’t go swimming there in the meantime, the environment department states.
