TORONTO -- The fate of the country’s political future is about to be decided and CTV News will be ready with comprehensive coverage of all of the developments on election night.
CTV News will kick off the evening with its CTV Election 2019 special that begins at 7 p.m. EDT / 4 p.m. PDT on Oct. 21 on-air and online. The coverage will air on CTV, CTV News Channel, BNN Bloomberg, and will be live streamed on CTVNews.ca, CTV.ca, and the CTV and CTV News apps.
With CTV News’ Chief Anchor and Senior Editor Lisa LaFlamme at the helm, viewers will be treated to live reports from more than 60 correspondents situated across the country, including as far north as Iqaluit, to bring CTV viewers the most up-to-date results and reaction.
Viewers can expect in-depth analysis from in-studio experts, and up-to-the-minute results as the ballots are tallied.
LaFlamme will be joined in studio by CTV Question Period Host Evan Solomon, CTV News National Affairs Correspondent Omar Sachedina, BNN Bloomberg’s Amanda Lang, CTV News’ official pollster Nik Nanos and Rupen Seoni, from Environics Analytics.
New this year, CTV’s Truth Tracking team comprising CTV News’ Richard Madan and CTVNews.ca’s Nicole Bogart will be ready to monitor and fact-check disinformation and any irregularities that may arise, while CTVNews.ca’s Ottawa Bureau Producer Rachel Aiello will provide context on what’s unfolding online as the night develops.
CTV Chief Political Commentator Craig Oliver and CTV News Special Correspondent Lloyd Robertson, with a combined experience of 32 federal election nights, will round out the coverage for CTV Election 2019.
For viewers tuning in online, CTVNews.ca, the CTV News app, and its dedicated election website election.ctvnews.ca will provide readers with comprehensive coverage to support the special, including profiles of the major party leaders, a guide to the parties’ platforms, and interactive features examining what’s at stake in key ridings.
A live blog and live interactive map will provide minute-by-minute results and allow users to zoom into the ridings that matter most to them. Readers will also be able to track the trajectory of the party leaders’ support, based on daily updates from Nanos.
Visitors will also be able to easily access CTV National News’ latest Truth Tracker segments, featuring investigations from Madan and CTVNews.ca. On election night, a Truth Tracker live blog will report on any voting irregularities.
