Although temperatures may have seemed frigid today, we’re in for a rude awakening this weekend - it’s not time to pack the sweaters away just yet.
“We are tracking the next weather maker, it’s a low pressure system, it’s not packing a lot of moisture,” said CTV London weather specialist Reta Ismail. “It should move in overnight tonight into tomorrow, which means a little bit of rainfall for your Saturday morning.”
The rainfall is the least of our problems though, that low pressure system will bring with it a rapid drop in temperatures on Saturday, “there is a chance for some wrap around snowfall Saturday before noon,” cautioned Ismail. “So it moves in as rainfall around 7 a.m., and then you could see that line of snow between nine and noon.”
Temperatures are expected to plummet down to -2 C tomorrow afternoon, with cold temperatures sticking around into the evening.
On Sunday, there is a chance for recovery, where temperatures are expected to rebound to four degrees, “more sunshine on Sunday than your Saturday and then Monday through to Wednesday.”
We will be hovering below the double digits for much of the first half of next week.
