Road closures as blowing snow and squalls move through the region

CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison gives you the latest forecast details for the area heading into your Wednesday - spoiler, pack your fuzzy socks.

Snow squall warnings are in effect across the region Wednesday.

The squalls off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, combined with winds gusting up to 70 km/h is resulting in significantly reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow at times.

The lake effect snow will taper in intensity through tonight. Winds will also weaken this evening.

If you’ve been missing those clear skies, there’s some relief on the way, according to CTV News Meteorologist Julie Atchison.

“Heading into your Thursday, some sunshine the high at one degree – so, looking good in terms of daytime highs,” said Atchison.

Looking ahead to the weekend, a low pressure system from the south could lead to some mixed precipitation, however the bulk of it’s momentum will remain south of the Great Lakes.
