March is Fraud Prevention Month, and the London Police Service (LPS) is kicking off a month-long campaign aimed at educating Londoners about fraud tactics, trends, and tricks of the trade.
“We’ve all heard the expression, knowledge is power – and knowledge about fraud prevention is the power to protect you, your family, and your friends. I can’t stress enough how important it is to be aware of the common types of fraud that are active in your community and to share that information with those you care about,” said Det. Michelle Serpa of the LPS Financial Crime Unit. “Know the 3 Rs of fraud prevention. Recognize, reject and report. Recognize that a fraud is occurring. Reject the attempted fraud. Report the incident to local police and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC).”
There are two fraud prevention information sessions this month
- March 22, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the London Police Headquarters
- March 27, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Cherryhill Village Mall
