Historical sexual assault reported, accused turned in: STPS

A suspect in a historical sexual assault has turned themselves in following a report in St. Thomas.

According to the St. Thomas Police Service, a young victim went to the police station to make the report.

Officers said they formed reasonable and probable grounds for charges of sexual assault on a person under 16 and assault causing bodily harm.

The suspect turned themselves in to police and was arrested, later released with a court date and conditions.
