Highway 401 eastbound lanes are closed following two collisions on the eastbound side, one being a fatal multi-vehicle collision south of London. The first collision was at about 2:15 p.m. near Colonel Talbot Road and involved approximately three vehicles. Just after 4 p.m. OPP responded to a second collision involving a transport truck and passenger vehicle, further down the highway near Union Road. The transport truck collided with the rear of a passenger vehicle, that according to OPP was stopped in traffic. The vehicle burst into flames. OPP says Highway 401 is closed between Colonel Talbot Road and Iona Road. Westbound lanes on Highway 401 have been reopened. The number of deceased individuals is unknown at this time. Motorists are being urged to plan alternate routes.
