St. Thomas police are investigating a fraud after a victim reported falling for a scam.
Police say in previous years, the victim had received a virus on their computer and contacted a company to assist with the virus and unlocked their computer.
This incident happened again in 2023, and once again in 2025.
For this most recent incident, the company allegedly referred the individual to another person who advised that they would provide them a way to retain the money they had lost previously by having them log into their banking website.
Money was then removed from accounts by the fraudsters, according to police.
This incident is currently under investigation.
