A bitter cold front is set to sweep across the region tonight

CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison says winter isn't ready to say goodbye just yet - here's the details on the snow that may be coming to the region.

Pull that toque back out of storage, there’s a chance for more snow in the coming days.

“We have a cold front moving in today with some rainfall, even some snow mixing in,” cautioned CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “Most of the activity at the surface in the Forest City will be rainfall, but north of London potential for a couple centimetres [of snow].”

That cold front will be coming in with a fury on Tuesday evening, “that northwest wind will kick up with gusts upwards of 40 – 60 kilometres per hour, drawing in the cold air so there is the chance for some flurries developing,” said Atchison.

Those cold temperatures are expected to make their return on Wednesday night, “we will be dealing with some lake effect flurries – so winter, just not wanting to let go across the region,” she joked.

The weekend is looking slightly improved in terms of temperatures, with a mix of rain and sun over the long weekend.
