After starring in the brand's Touche Éclat and Baby Doll Kiss and Blush campaigns, the British supermodel has returned to the spotlight to promote Yves Saint Laurent's latest makeup collection, titled Cuirs Fétiches.
This latest makeup line is inspired by leather in all its forms, from fetish wear to punk rock jackets.
"I wanted to explore the variations of leather in one single collection that would be perfect for Fall 2014," explains Lloyd Simmonds, creative director of makeup at YSL. And to embody the rebellious and sultry spirit of the collection, the brand enlisted the help of Cara Delevingne.
The centerpiece of the new line is the Collector Fétiche Couture Palette ($60), a leather-covered compact with five eyeshadows. There is a shimmery camel base color, a luminous gold for highlights and three darker shades: iridescent brown, matte black and deep green. Also for the eyes, the collection includes new shades of the Effet Faux Cils mascara ($30), including the darkest one yet in Rock Ultra Black. Eyeliners are also in the mix, with the Eyeliner Baby Doll ($34) in Vinyl Grey and Patina Blue.
For rebellious lips, YSL is offering its Rouge Pur Couture The Mats lipstick ($35) in new tones of pink (Rose Perfecto), nude (Nude Acoustic), fuchsia (Fuchsia Fétiche) and of course bright red (Red Rhythm). The latest shades of the brand's now famous Vernis à Lèvres Glossy Stain ($35) are nude (Beige Peau) and intense, leather-inspired brown (Brun Cuir), while the Gloss Volupté comes in shimmery garnet red (Cuir Grenat) and nude (Beige Nu).
In keeping with the theme of the season, the brand is also launching Laque Couture Les Grainés ($27), a nail polish that takes on a grained leather texture after drying. The new product comes in Bleu Galuchat, a metallic blue, or Taupe Grainé, a matte suede-like brown.
The YSL Cuirs Fétiches collection is available now at the brand's website and in a selection of stores.
