Kitchener man charged after threatening to shoot bar employees in Guelph

A Kitchener man has been arrested after police said he threatened to shoot people at a Guelph bar.

Guelph Police Service officers were called to the bar on Woodlawn Road West on Thursday around 11 p.m. They were told a man had gotten into a physical altercation with two other people and when staff tried to remove him from the business, he claimed he had a gun and would shoot them.

Police found the man outside. They said he refused to follow instructions from the officers and pulled his hands away when they tried to handcuff him. Police did not find a weapon during the arrest.

A 41-year-old Kitchener man has been charged with uttering threats, resisting arrest and public intoxication.
