The Guelph Police Service has arrested a man who they say was driving erratically and tried to evade arrest by hiding under a kitchen sink.

Officers said a rented blue Mitsubishi was reportedly speeding and swerving through traffic in the Speedvale Avenue and Hanlon Expressway area on Thursday around 8:30 a.m. The vehicle was found a short time later parked at a Speedvale Avenue West address near Woolwich Street.

Officers asked the homeowner if they could go inside. They then found a suspect hiding behind a false wall under a kitchen sink.

A 33-year-old Guelph man has been charged with dangerous driving, driving while suspended and failing to attend court.
