A woman has been charged after police said she slapped the glasses off a man’s face and bit him at a downtown bar.

Guelph Police Service officers were called to the Macdonell Street business just after 1 a.m. Sunday. They were told a customer approached an employee and told him they were worried about a woman at the bar. The employee told police when he went to check on her, she slapped him, knocking his glasses off his face.

He then tried to force the woman to leave the business, but she bit him on the upper arm, leaving a noticeable mark.

A 46-year-old Guelph woman has been charged with assault.
