Suspect tries to steal truck in Waterloo, crashes into another vehicle at stop sign

Waterloo Regional Police are trying to identify the person who tried to steal a truck in Waterloo.

Police received a report about an attempted theft on Wednesday around 5:35 p.m. They were told a female suspect got into an idling red Toyota Tacoma that had been parked outside a business in the Marsland Drive and Lexington Road area.

She tried to drive away, but hit a black GMV Sierra at a stop sign.

The suspect got out of the truck and hopped into a sedan driven by an unknown man.

The investigation is ongoing.
