The investigation into a robbery continues in Brantford.
Brantford Police Service officers were called to Colborne Street and Alfred Street around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday where they found two people with gunshot wounds and a third person who had been assaulted. All three were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
On Thursday, police said the victims were considered to be in stable condition.
Although one male was arrested on Wednesday, investigators said they are still looking for at least one more suspect in the case, though they did not provide a description or release any further details.
“We do take these situations very seriously,” Const. Serena Michell told CTV News.
“We have dedicated significant resources into the investigation.”

Members of the canine unit searched the neighbourhood and officers are looking for any witnesses or video that may be able to help with the investigation.
One person who lives nearby said he wasn’t surprised to hear of the violent incident.
“It’s always been trouble around here since I can remember,” he said. “Everything’s getting bad these days.”

“Everyone gets a slap on the wrist,” he continued. “They go to court and then they let them back out. They do the same. Put them in jail.”
Although police have not specifically said where the incident happened, police tape cordoned off a shop called Downtown Pawnbrokers on Wednesday night. The shop was also closed on Thursday.
