Water from the Grand River could be seen spilling onto the shoulder and partially submerging the southbound lane.
Water Street South was closed between Concession Street and Myers Road. Despite the closure, some drivers continued to drive around the blockade.

The road has reopened. In an email to CTV News, a representative for the City of Cambridge said the Grand River Conservation Authority determined the river wouldn’t rise anymore.
