All restrictions have been lifted at Brantford schools after police investigated a call about a man with a firearm.
The Brantford Police Service said they received a report about a man with a weapon in the Tecumseh Street and Salisbury Avenue area around 2 p.m.
In a social media post at 2:40 p.m., police said Princess Elizabeth Public School was placed in lockdown while Bellview Public School and Madonna Della Libera Catholic Elementary School were placed in hold and secures as a precaution.
In an update 40 minutes later, police said the lockdown and hold and secures had been lifted.
Moments later, police said officers had been searching for a man with a gun. A drone was brought out to help investigate the claim.
No arrests have been made. Brantford Police said officers will be in the area into the evening to complete their investigation.
Police thanked the public for their cooperation during the investigation.
