ORILLIA, Ont. -- A young moose found roaming a city about 130 kilometres north of Toronto is back in a more natural setting.

Ontario Provincial Police say they started receiving reports on Wednesday about a moose on the loose in a neighbourhood in the north end of Orillia, Ont.

Police say the moose was spotted on Thursday, Ontario's Ministry of Natural Resources was called in to assist, and the animal was tranquilized around noon.

The moose was then relocated to a natural area a few kilometres to the north in Severn Township.

Police say the moose was standing up and moving around shortly after being released.

This is not the first time a moose has visited Orillia -- police say there is usually one moose sighting a year.
