Professionals traded in their everyday workwear for boxing gloves on Friday and stepped into the ring for the “Brawl at Tapestry Hall.”

The Cambridge event is a fight night fundraiser for Champions for Charity and organized by Mandy Bujold, the former Olympian and boxing champ from Kitchener.

One of the matchups pitted Thompson Tran, the executive chef and owner of the Wooden Boat Food Company, against Allan Cayenne, realtor and past president of Oktoberfest.

Cayenne ultimately came out on top, winning his match against Tran.

They, along with 18 other local professionals, underwent 15 weeks of training before entering the boxing ring on Friday night.

All donations from the event will go to McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton.

Organizers say Champions for Charity has helped raise more than half a million dollars for children’s charities.
