A 45-year-old Kitchener man was slammed with multiple charges, including break and enter and flight from police, after a break-in at a local business.
Waterloo Regional Police responded to a break and enter in progress and a vehicle being stolen in Shirley Drive and Cedarview Place around 5:45 p.m. Saturday.
“Through investigation, it was determined that the stolen vehicle was in Cambridge,” police said in a media release. “Officers located the vehicle in a parking lot in the area of Saginaw Parkway and Townline Road and blocked the vehicle in. The driver accelerated and attempted to flee the parking lot while striking two police cruisers.”
Officers arrested the man. No injuries were reported.
The local man was charged with:
- Break and enter
- Possession of break and enter tools
- Mischief under $5,000
- Three counts of motor vehicle theft
- Two counts of dangerous driving
- Flight from police
- Driving while disqualified
- Obstructing police
- Driving while under suspension
