Hundreds of plastic totes catch fire at Guelph auto parts plant

Firefighters from six stations were needed to bring a fire under control outside an auto parts plant in Guelph.

According to Guelph Fire, the fire was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. Monday at the Transgear factory on Massey Road.

Fire officials say hundreds of plastic skids and totes caught fire, with the flames eventually spreading to the walls and roof of the building itself.

The fire was eventually extinguished, with no injuries reported.

Its cause remains under investigation.
