Guelph Police are seeking the public’s help after they arrested a man who they say was driving dangerously through the downtown area Thursday afternoon.

Police said an officer, who was patrolling around 1:20 p.m., was notified by his automated licence plate reader about a vehicle that was registered to a suspended driver.

“When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle the driver took off, driving erratically through the downtown and nearly striking several other vehicles,” police said in a media release.

Police found the suspect a little while later at his home.

A 59-year-old Guelph man was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, flight from police and driving while suspended.

Police are asking anyone who saw the blue Kia driving dangerously or has a video of the incident to contact Sgt. Mike Alarie at malarie@guelphpolice.ca.
