Building to be demolished after fire on Victoria From CTV Kitchener's Natalie van Rooy: A big storage shed in Kitchener is set to be demolished after it caught fire on Thursday.

KITCHENER — The Kitchener Fire Department responded to a fire near Victoria Street North and Natchez Road Thursday evening.

Fire crews were on scene by around 7:10 p.m.

Officials say it is a large storage shed that was scheduled for demolition that caught fire.

The shed was boarded up, which officials say made it difficult to fight the flames.

Fire crews also confirm there is content inside the shed, but it's unclear what that content is.

Three stations, and close to 20 firefighters responded to the call.

While the building is still standing, fire officials say the interior was destroyed by the flames.

It's not clear if the fire is suspicious, but there are no plans for any further investigation into the cause at this time.

Fire officials say that police are frequently called to the area to reports of homeless people using abandoned buildings to keep warm.
