Michael Buble has cancelled some scheduled appearances on both sides of the border in order to recover from “pending vocal cord surgery.”
The Canadian crooner made the announcement in a message posted to social media on Wednesday afternoon.
Buble said the surgery “will require a period of time for me to rest and recover. No talking of singing for awhile but my doctors expect a complete recovery.”
Buble said he is “especially sorry” to be missing the Canadian Governor General Performance Arts Award gala on June 11 in Ottawa, where he was scheduled to be among the recipients. Organizers now say he will be presented with the award in 2017.
And he will no longer be perfoming at the Marvin Gaye tribute at Kennedy Center in New York on June 5.
