Three people have been arrested in connection with a theft from an Edmonton mosque last month.

On March 22, police say a 27-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman went into a mosque at 216 Street and 100 Avenue and stole several security boxes with cheques inside before leaving in a car driven by a 25-year-old man.

The trio was arrested by the Tsuut’ina Nation Police near Calgary on March 25 and were charged with 22 criminal charges relating to drug possession, firearms offences and other violations.

The Edmonton Police Service says charges are also pending in connection with the theft at the mosque
