RCMP are on scene south of Fort McMurray, where there were multiple rear-ended vehicle collisions early Sunday.
The main incident, which police said involved multiple rear-ended semi tractor trailers, took place in the north bound lane on Highway 63 at Township Road 781A, police said in a release issued at 7:27 a.m.
They said northbound traffic is blocked due to the crashes and several other smaller vehicle collisions.
No injuries have been reported, but police expect to remain at the scene for a number of hours while emergency crews clear the area.

Police believe poor road conditions and changing weather are factors, with several vehicles sliding off the highway into the ditch.
Motorists are advised that due to freezing rain that fell overnight, travel is not advised at this time.
