A home in Strathcona County was destroyed by fire Monday afternoon.
Emergency services responded to a home in the area of Township Road 521 and Range Road 231 at 4:35 p.m.
When crews arrived, the fire was “well-established” inside the home and into the attic. Firefighters tried to bring it under control from inside the building but had to withdraw when flames reached the roof.
Crews were able to bring the fire under control from outside within the hour, but said the home “is a complete loss” and were bringing in heavy equipment to completely extinguish the blaze.
No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported, according to Strathcona County Emergency Services.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Part of Range Road 521 is closed as of 7:30 p.m. as crews finish extinguishing the fire.
