As expected, some cooler air and snow rolled back in on Sunday.
After hitting a high of 11 C on Saturday, temperatures topped out at 3 C on Sunday and the city picked up roughly 1-4 cm of snow accumulation.
Areas just south of the city saw a bit more and the foothills and mountain parks picked up a reported 20-40 cm of snow according to ECCC, including a reported 43 cm at Marmot Basin.
We’re eyeballing another significant snow event for mid-week that will target central, north-central and NW Alberta.
It’s a bit early for snowfall estimates. BUT...snowfall totals for most areas will likely be in the 5 to 10 centimetre range, and upwards of 20-30 cm looks possible in some of the harder-hit areas.
So, this is definitely setting up to be a classic March Snowstorm, especially when you add in the fact that we’ll be dealing with some gusty wind Wednesday/Thursday.
More on that snowstorm in the coming days as the pattern develops, but that’s your early heads-up.
As for today - some sunny breaks this afternoon and a high just barely above zero. (sub-zero temperatures for the majority of the day though).

We’ll see a slight warming early next week, but probably don’t get to the +5 range until the end of next week.
