Edmonton police have laid additional charges on four people following a series of violent crimes in Alberta and British Columbia.
Officials said that Adrian Barnes, 37, was arrested Tuesday in Fort McMurray on warrants stemming from an investigation.
Barnes was charged with six criminal charges including aggravated assault, two counts of extortion, conspiracy to commit a break and enter among others.
Police also announced charges against Michael Kogut, 26 who was arrested by Edmonton Police.
He has been accused of having participated in a crime with another man and now faces charges of breaking and entering, unlawful confinement and robbery with a firearm.
Police also arrested Jonathan Henry, 28, who is accused of being involved in two separate incidents in Edmonton. He has been charged with uttering threats to cause death, robbery, injuring an animal, three firearms-related offenses and three weapons-related offences.
Fabick Gorjok, 26, has also been charged with break and enter, unlawful confinement and public mischief.
The charges on the four follow an investigation that involved the Edmonton Police Service, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia, Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (British Columbia), Vancouver Police Department, Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team and the RCMP in both provinces.
The new charges were laid following an announcement made Monday that a man had been charged with two separate counts of murder and 32 other charges.
They also announced a 24-year-old Edmonton man was facing 20 criminal charges for alleged violent crimes.
