The youth fare eligibility will also change to include only 18-year-olds and under.

Riders aged 19 to 24, who were previously eligible, will have to pay standard fares. The city said that age group will remain eligible for UPass and other discounted fare options, and children 12 and under will continue to ride free with a fare-paying adult.

Edmonton Transit Service is also launching two new Arc multi-day pass options for single riders, priced $24 and $30, that will allow for three or five consecutive days of travel.

The new passes can be bought at Arc machines in LRT stations, West Edmonton Mall, Mill Woods Transit Centre and the Edmonton International Airport.
