Hearing date set in case of New Brunswick man accused in death of toddler

James Paul Turpin of Eel River Bar, N.B., has been found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of two-year-old Kennedy Corrigan.

BURTON, N.B. -- Three days have been scheduled for a preliminary hearing in the case of a New Brunswick man charged in the death of a two-year-old girl.

James Paul Turpin of Eel River Bar, N.B., was arrested June 2 and is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Kennedy Corrigan of Central Blissville, N.B.

Police allege the girl was in Turpin's care on April 9, 2004 when she suffered head injuries in her home.

She died in hospital a few days later.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled to begin Sept. 23.
