VANCOUVER - A 23-year-old Alberta woman has been identified as the person who died while attending a music festival in British Columbia.
Lynn Tolocka of Leduc, Alta., was at the Boonstock Music Festival near Penticton, B.C., on Aug. 1 when she collapsed and could not be revived.
The BC Coroners Service says the incident is still under investigation and it has not confirmed how the woman died.
In an unrelated case, 21-year-old Nick Phongsavath of Regina was found dead in his tent while attending the Pemberton Music Festival north of Whistler, B.C., in late July.
Toronto police confirm two people died and 13 were sickened after taking party drugs believed to have been bought on-site at the Veld festival over the August long weekend, the same weekend Tolocka collapsed.
Police in B.C. have ruled out foul play in the British Columbia deaths, but officers in Toronto are appealing for information from Veld concert-goers as investigators try to find the source of the deadly drugs.
