HALIFAX -- Police have charged eight inmates at a Halifax provincial jail with various assault and weapon offences after two people were stabbed at the facility.
Halifax police responded to a weapons complaint at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility at 4 p.m. on March 24.
Investigators say when they arrived they found two men, ages 39 and 24, with minor stab wounds inflicted by improvised weapons.
Charges including assault, assault with a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon have been laid against eight inmates between the ages of 21 and 39.
