The Calgary Hitmen cooled off the Prince Albert Raiders Wednesday, defeating them 3-1 in a game played at Scotiabank Saddledome.
The Raiders had picked up points in nine consecutive games prior to Wednesday’s game.
Oliver Tulk and Connor Hvidston scored second-period goals for the Hitmen, with Tulk adding another in the third to become the first Hitmen to reach 30 goals this season.
Ethan Bibeau scored with two minutes left to spoil Daniel Hauser’s shutout bid, but that was it for Raiders scoring.
Calgary outshot Prince Albert 36-28.
The win moved the Hitmen to within two points of division-leading Medicine Hat, with three games in hand.
Calgary is back on the ice Friday, when they host the Edmonton Oil Kings at the Saddledome. Puck drop for that is scheduled for 7 p.m.
