The Lethbridge Independent Film Festival opens this weekend.
This will be the third time the festival has been held.
Fifty-four movies will be shown at the Galt Museum and Movie Mill over three days.
Thirty-nine of the movies shown will be premieres.
The films will come from countries all over the world, but it isn’t just international films on the docket.
Thirteen of the movies being shown were made in Lethbridge and southern Alberta.
“Lethbridge is a really interesting city for arts and community.” said festival director Tess Mitchell.
“It’s always had a big arts centre. It’s always been very nurturing to different platforms of creativity and I feel like this town can really engage and accept such a big festival because it’s always been such a special space for creation.”

Admission to the festival is by donation.
An opening gala for the festival will be held at the Galt Museum on Friday night.
