Led by hat tricks from Curtis and Haiden Dickson, the Calgary Roughnecks prevailed in a goal-filled affair, defeating the Warriors 15-12 Friday night at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.

Goals came fast and furious in the first half. After the Warriors took a two-goal lead early, the Roughnecks responded with five straight, including two from Dane Dobbie, and singles from Tyler Pace, Haiden Dickson and Ethan Ticehurst.

Vancouver interrupted the barrage to make it 5-3, but the Calgary crew resumed scoring in bunches, running it up to 9-3 on goals from Curtis Dickson twice, Tanner Cook and Bennett Smith.

The Warriors woke up, scoring six straight to knot the score at nine apiece before Haiden Dickson added his second of the night to send Calgary to the dressing room up 10-9 at the half.

Vancouver tied it at 10 early in the third before Curtis Dickson got his hat trick and Jesse King, Mathieu Gautier and Tanner Cook propelled Calgary into the fourth quarter with a 14-12 lead.

The only goal in the fourth came from Haiden Dickson, who completed his hat trick.

Curtis Dickson’s three goals gave him 553 in his career, moving him past Dan Dawson into sixth all-time in NLL goals scored.

Dane Dobbie’s six-point night moved him past Gary Gait into ninth all-time in NLL points with 1,166.

Next up for the Roughnecks is a weekend home double header that starts with a Valentine’s Day showdown against the Saskatchewan Rush, followed by a Sunday contest against the Las Vegas Desert Dogs.
