Investigation underway into early-morning fire in Calgary northeast.
At around 4:45 a.m. Sunday, fire crews responded to reports of a building fire at the corner of McDougall Road and 9A St. N.E.
There, they discovered smoke and fire coming from the fifth floor of a six story building under construction. Due to the size of the complex, a second alarm was called.
The fire was located in a large room on the fifth floor used to store construction equipment and tools. Thanks to a coordinated attack using interior crews and elevated water streams, the fire is now under control. Crews are ventilating smoke from the building.
No one was in the building at the time of the fire. There were no injuries.
