The Calgary Hitmen’s three-game weekend is threatening to turn into a lost weekend after dropping a 3-2 decision in a shootout to the Tigers Saturday night in Medicine Hat.

It was the team’s second straight loss to the Tigers, who also won 3-0 Friday night.

The Hitmen built a 2-0 lead early in the third, getting a second period marker from Oliver Tulk, and then a second goal from Tanner Howe.

Ryder Ritchie rode to the rescue for the Tigers, scoring back-to-back goals to knot the score and send the game into extra time.

Nothing was decided in overtime, forcing the game into an eight-round shootout. Jonas Woo beat Anders Miller, and Harrison Meneghin stopped Brandon Gorzynski to give Medicine Hat the win.

Calgary earned a point and now sits third in the Central Division behind the Tigers and Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The Hitmen still have one more chance to salvage the weekend, when they take on Regina at the Saddledome Sunday.

Puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m.
