Tsuut’ina Nation police are trying to determine who was behind the wheel during a hit-and-run last month that left two people seriously injured.
The incident happened outside the Grey Eagle Casino at 8:20 p.m. on Jan. 10.
The Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service says both victims were hit by a red 2003 Honda Accord in the parking lot as they left the casino.
They were taken to hospital in critical condition with life-altering injuries.
Police say one of the victims remains in hospital.
The driver of the Honda didn’t remain at the scene.
The vehicle was found abandoned in the hamlet of Langdon the following day.
“At this time, police have made multiple attempts to contact the registered owner of the vehicle but have not yet been able to establish their involvement or whereabouts,” police said in a news release.
“The registered owner has not reported the vehicle as stolen and has not cooperated or responded to police inquiries.”
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, observed the Honda Accord before or after the collision or who knows the owner of the Honda to call TNPS at 403-271-3777.
