Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation (CSEC) has changed safety and security protocols after content creator Alex Will got into the Saddledome to watch a Calgary Flames game using a fake media pass.
“We are aware of this situation involving the use of falsified credentials. The unlawful act has been reported to Calgary Police Service.
“The safety of our personnel, fans, and media members is a top priority and as a result of this matter we have already taken steps to review our safety and security protocols,” CSEC said in a statement.
The video was posted on April 20 and by Wednesday afternoon it has already been viewed almost 6,000 times.
“Dear NHL, please don’t hate me. This video is for entertainment purposes only,” Will wrote in the YouTube video description.
“I purchased a valid ticket to attend the game and did not access any restricted zones or impersonate real media outlets.
“The intention was to create a lighthearted, non-disruptive experience while respecting staff and fans. Please don’t try this yourself,” Will added.

In the video, Will can be seen speaking to someone who is allegedly part of the media and knows their way around the Saddledome.
He also created a Flames media pass by copying one he found posted to social media.
It worked. Will not only got in, but was able to access a club level box to watch the game.
Speaking with CTV News on Wednesday evening, Will said it was all meant to be “very lighthearted.”
“I’m a Calgarian. I love the Calgary Flames. … I have a huge amount of respect for all the work that goes into operating these events," he told CTV News.
He said he wasn’t out to make anyone look bad, hence why he blurred faces.
And he said he wasn’t looking to steal, hence why he paid for passes.
“I just want to put that out there and just say, like, yeah, this video was just meant to be very lighthearted, and it obviously went a bit bigger than that,” he said.
