City crews responding to two water main breaks in Calgary

City of Calgary crews responded to two water main breaks in residential areas on Monday morning as extreme cold blankets the city.

The city is investigating a break in the community of Collingwood. As of 8:55 a.m., 25 homes have been affected by service disruptions.

Crews will be on scene to make repairs in the areas of Cromwell Avenue, Cheltenham Road, and Cawder Drive N.W.

A water wagon has been ordered for the area.

Another break occurred in the community of Shaganappi. Crews are on site in the 1200 block of 26th Street S.W.

Eight homes have been affected by the service disruption as of the city’s last update at 8:01 a.m.

The city says to call 311 when your water is not working, and you have not been notified of an outage, and if you see water coming up through or pooling in the grass, road or sidewalk.
