Cavalry FC and Sport Calgary are launching a soccer program that will give underrepresented youth a chance to play with the pros.
The free four-week program will be hosted by the reigning Canadian Premier League (CPL) champs and Sport Calgary at the Genesis Centre in northeast Calgary.
Over 50 participants, between seven and 12 years old will be accepted into the program, which organizers say will focus on building teamwork, as well as highlighting the benefits of an active lifestyle.
They also hope to develop soccer skills.
Cavalry FC players and coaches will participate in drills and activities with the participants, who will each get free tickets to the club’s home opener on Friday, April 18 at ATCO Field.
The program will take place Wednesdays from March 5 to March 26, with two-hour sessions between 4 and 6 p.m.
