A Canmore man has won almost $180,000 thanks to a Lightning Lotto ticket.
“I saw the amount right away and was so surprised,” Brent Cowan said in a Tuesday news release from the Western Canada Lottery Corporation.
“The whole thing has just been shocking.”
Cowan bought his ticket at the Circle K on Bow Valley Trail in Canmore. He won his $179,380 prize instantly in store by matching all five numbers in the selection for the Dec. 17 draw.
Cowan said he plans to be responsible with his recent windfall.
“I’m putting it into my TFSA and RRSP and will decide in six months if there’s anything I want to get.”
