CTV Calgary has confirmed the residents of a northeast Calgary riding will head to the polls in March to select the successor to the seat vacated by Manmeet Bhullar’s untimely death.
The Calgary-Greenway byelection will be held on March 22, 2016. Premier Notley is expected to officially announce the date on Tuesday.
On Saturday, Roop Rai, a former Red FM radio host, was nominated as the NDP candidate for Calgary-Greenway. The other major provincial parties have yet to announce their candidates.
Longserving Calgary-Greenway MLA Manmeet Bhullar passed away in November following a crash on the QEII highway.
