A father and son from Sundre are facing arson and insurance fraud charges in connection to a fire at a business in the Manchester Industrial area last year.
Emergency crews were called to reports of a fire at Tail Lights Truck & Auto in the 6000 block of 6 Street S.E. at about 2:25 a.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2015.
Officials say an alarm was triggered indicating a break-in and a report about a fire came soon after.
Fire crews kept the fire from spreading to nearby businesses but the building suffered about $500,000 in damages.
Investigators at the scene found evidence that led them to believe the fire was suspicious in nature and after an eight-month investigation, two of the three business owners were charged.
Nicolas Rocco Gallipoli, 28, of Sundre, is charged with arson damage to property, arson damage to own property risking others and arson for a fraudulent purpose.
Mario Rocco Gallipoli, 62, of Sundre, is charged with one count of fraud over $5,000.
Both are scheduled to appear in court on Friday, April 29, 2016.
